A. Shaw “Pomona” Pattern Mulberry Transferware Plate

A. Shaw “Pomona” Pattern Mulberry Transferware Plate

SOLD ARCHIVE

An early Victorian mulberry transferware plate by A. Shaw in the Pomona pattern. The center shows classical figures in a landscaped garden with terraces, urns, and distant architecture, printed in a rich manganese-based mulberry tone. The border features alternating vignettes, geometric panels, and scrolling ornament typical of 1840s–1850s Staffordshire design. The shield-form stamp on the reverse confirms A. Shaw manufacture and Pomona pattern attribution.
