Blackbird Grove Vintage

Crown Ducal “Bristol” Pattern Red Transferware Bread Plate

Crown Ducal “Bristol” Pattern Red Transferware Bread Plate

SOLD ARCHIVE

An early twentieth century Crown Ducal red transferware bread plate in the Bristol pattern. The center shows a pheasant surrounded by layered florals, the same composition used in the classic Asiatic Pheasant pattern. Crown Ducal produced their own interpretation of this long-loved Victorian design, echoing the florals, scrolls, and shaped rim details while presenting it in a saturated cranberry tone. The shaped edge carries a repeating floral and cartouche border. The printed stamp on the reverse confirms maker and pattern.
