Hand sourced in France, this small oil painting on board by René Sergent depicts a wooded pond in deep olive, brown, and muted cream tones. The frame plaque identifies the work as L’Étang de Longchamp, translated as “The Pond at Longchamp.” Tall trees surround the light-filled water, with loose brushwork lending depth to the shaded foreground. An ornate gold-toned frame with raised floral detailing completes the piece.
