Condition Note: Good antique condition with light surface wear consistent with age, minor veneer edge wear, natural patina to the bronze hardware, and a small missing piece of ormolu on the front.
Miniature Louis XVI style commode made as a salesman sample. Features a bombe form with detailed parquetry inlay on both drawers, line inlay border, marble top, and gilt bronze mounts.
Salesman samples were created by cabinetmakers to demonstrate craftsmanship and design to clients. This piece retains strong detail and scale accuracy and works well on a bookshelf, desk, or in a vitrine display.
