This is a charming small French gilt bronze jewelry box raised on four elegant cabriole style legs. The body is richly detailed with scrolling and floral relief, and the hinged lid is decorated with a matching raised motif, giving the piece a cohesive and refined look from every angle. Its petite scale makes it ideal for holding rings, small trinkets, or keepsakes, while also functioning beautifully as a decorative accent on a dresser, vanity, or shelf.
The underside is stamped “Déposé 226,” indicating a registered French design, a mark commonly found on late 19th to early 20th century French decorative metalwork. The box shows age appropriate wear throughout, including surface wear to the gilt finish, small areas of rubbing, and minor imperfections consistent with age and use. Old repair on left corner. The hinge functions properly and the lid opens and closes as it should.
